Questions You Might Be Afraid to Ask
Curiosity is a good beginning. You may have questions you’ve never quite dared to ask. Here are some honest answers.
1. I’ve never been submissive before. Would you still be interested in me?
Absolutely. Inexperience doesn’t bother me. In fact, there’s something rather appealing about a young man who knows he’s drawn to submission but hasn’t yet discovered what it means for him. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to behave or what to say. I would much rather meet someone genuine, curious, and willing to learn than someone performing what he thinks a submissive ought to be. I can teach you. What I can’t teach you is sincerity.
2. Why am I attracted to older, dominant men?
There could be any number of reasons. Perhaps you find maturity reassuring, experience attractive, or quiet authority particularly compelling. Or perhaps you simply like older men. There’s no need to turn every attraction into a psychological investigation. I happen to find younger men enormously attractive. I don’t spend much time wondering why. I’m far more interested in what happens when that attraction is mutual.
3. What does being your submissive actually involve?
It means developing a relationship in which you willingly give me authority over certain aspects of our time together.
I would expect obedience, honesty, respect, and a genuine desire to please me. There would be expectations, routines, and responsibilities. Some would be serious; others might be wonderfully ordinary.
But I would also want to know you as a person. Your interests, your humour, your ambitions, and what makes you happy. I’m looking for a submissive, not a household appliance.
4. Would I have to obey everything you tell me to do?
Within the boundaries we’ve agreed upon, I would expect you to obey me—and to take that expectation seriously.
But giving someone authority is a choice, not the surrender of your right to make choices. We would discuss limits and expectations before entering into any arrangement. Once we’ve agreed on those boundaries, I won’t want to negotiate every instruction. Part of the pleasure for both of us should be knowing who’s in charge. But consent remains essential, and you can always tell me when something is wrong or withdraw your consent.
5. What happens if I disappoint you or disobey?
First, I would want to understand why. There’s a difference between making an honest mistake, struggling with something, and deliberately disregarding an expectation. Discipline may be part of our relationship, including consequences we’ve discussed and agreed upon beforehand. I would expect you to take those consequences seriously. But punishment would never be an excuse for anger, humiliation without consent, or ignoring your safety.
My authority should make you feel secure in the relationship, not afraid of me.
6. Does being submissive mean I have to enjoy pain?
Not at all. Some submissive men enjoy spanking or other forms of impact play. Others don’t. Some discover their interests gradually. For me, the attraction is primarily about authority, trust, and obedience. Physical discipline can be part of that, but it isn’t the whole relationship. You don’t need to pretend to enjoy something because you think it will impress me. I’d rather have an honest answer than an obedient lie.
7. Would you expect me to serve you outside the bedroom?
Yes, quite possibly. In fact, I consider ordinary service an important part of submission. Making tea, helping with household tasks, keeping something tidy, or remembering how I like things done can all be meaningful expressions of service. The task itself may be unremarkable. What matters is the intention behind it: you’ve been asked to do something, you understand that it matters to me, and you take pride in doing it well. There’s something deeply satisfying about that, for both Master and submissive.
8. Could I still have my own life, friends, and relationships?
Of course. I expect you to have a life of your own. I’m not looking for someone to move in with me or abandon his independence. I envisage an ongoing relationship in which we spend time together regularly, while each of us maintains his own responsibilities and commitments. Between visits, there will be messages, small assignments, or expectations we’ve agreed upon. But I have no interest in isolating you from the people and activities that matter to you. A good relationship should enrich your life, not diminish it.
9. What if I discover that something isn’t right for me?
Then you tell me. I would expect honesty from you, even when you think I might not like what you’re about to say.
Submission involves exploration. You may discover things you love, things you’re uncertain about, and things you simply don’t want. We can discuss those discoveries and adjust our arrangement. And if you decide the relationship isn’t right for you, you are free to leave it. I might be disappointed, but I would respect your decision.
10. What would you want from me that goes beyond obedience?
Quite a lot, actually. I’d want your honesty, your affection, your humour, and your trust. I’d want to know when you’re happy and when something is troubling you. I’d want you to feel comfortable enough with me to be yourself.
I would enjoy your obedience, certainly. But I’d also enjoy making you laugh, sharing a meal, having a good conversation, and watching your confidence grow. I want a young man who takes pleasure in belonging to his Master, and who knows that his Master genuinely values him.
Obedience may be what first brings us together. It shouldn’t be the only thing that keeps us together.
